Qualified Bolting and Flange Joint Integrity Specialist
Program Overview
COURSE DESCRIPTION
A FLANGED JOINT is one of many critical components of a pressurized system. Dependent upon the contents and pressure of the system, leakage or failure of a bolted joint can have potentially catastrophic consequences. To meet this challenge, every owner of pressure equipment should have a system in place to positively and actively manage the integrity of all flanged joints.
The “BOLTING & FLANGE JOINT INTEGRITY SPECIALIST” Qualification Program is designed to train and evaluate a Pressure Equipment Inspector’s ability to access, inspect, manage and develop flange joint management procedures in an effective manner during construction, commissioning and operational phases.
Through our course and hands-on training, successful candidates will understand and demonstrate the principles and practices of safe bolted joint assembly and implementation of flange integrity systems as outlined in Appendix A of ASME PCC-1”Guidelines for Pressure Boundary Bolted Flange Joint Assembly” and EN 1591-4: ”Qualification of personnel competency in the assembly of the bolted connections of critical service pressurized system.”
WHAT WOULD YOU GET?
This course also prepares delegates for DOUBLE certification exams:
- TUV/TSCS 1.2 QUALIFIED BOLTING AND FLANGE JOINT INTEGRITY SPECIALIST (IN REFERENCE TO ASME PCC-1 & EN 1591-4)
- API BFJI (BOLTED FLANGE JOINT INSPECTOR) - CERTIFICATION PREPARATION PROGRAM
COURSE OBJECTIVE
This program benefits the participants, employers and the industry as a whole by helping to:
- Understand and demonstrate the principles and practices of safe bolted joint assembly and implementation of flange integrity systems
- Improve management control of flange joint inspection, repair, alteration and rerating
- Reduce the potential of unscheduled shutdowns or other emergency situations resulting from leaking flange connections and/or destruction of flange components.
